International Airport on Route 212 (Old Guysborough Rd.) The park
has a total of 119 open and wooded camp sites. Situated on Dollar
Lake, the park also offers sandy beaches, picnic area, showers,
flush toilets, canteen, fire grills and firewood, along with a
boat launch, trails, swimming and playground. Open May 16 - Sept
15. Camping reservations can be made beginning April 2nd. |

Moose
River Gold Mines Provincial Park & Museum
The
park is a historic site marking the spot of the 1936 gold mine
disaster that left three men trapped inside the mining shaft at the
141 foot level. Visitors are welcomed to roam the park freely within
the security fences. Also in Moose River there is a Miner's Museum.
Here there are visual and audio displays that bring you back in time
to the heart of the disaster. Many items that were used in the
rescue can be seen at the museum. Canteen & washroom facilities
on-site.

the beautiful Musquodoboit River, a class II canoeing river,

wide open, green fields can be used for friendly games of summer

Starting
from the Musquodoboit Valley Visitor Information Centre (next door
to Fulton's B&B), the walking tour of Middle Musquodoboit is approximately
three kilometers and provides 30 to 40 minutes of relaxing walk
around our village. There are several stores and restaurants along
the way where you can stop and get a snack.

the various buildings.

Icelandic Memorial
Society (Markland)
The
goal of the Society is to promote the memory of the early
Icelandic settlers in Nova Scotia and to assist and encourage the
descendants and others to preserve their heritage. The Society was
incorporated in 1998 to educate the public about Nova Scotia's
Icelandic past. Revisit the site of our pioneer settlers and
stroll through the Icelandic Settlement named "Markland"
which existed from 1875 to 1882 on 3,000 acres of land. Books
chronicling the history of Markland are available at the Musquodoboit
Valley Tourism Association office, located in the Bicentennial
Theatre. |

130 hectare woodlot behind the Natural Resources Education Centre,
Middle Musquodoboit, is a wonderful spot to spend the day.
The
walking trails through the woodlot highlight the living forest
providing insight into the way natural cycles and forest
management practices can work together to produce a healthy and
productive woodland.

Historic Sherbrooke Village,
Guysborough County, depicts a typical Nova Scotian village as it
was during the late 1800s and early 1900s. With approximately 80
buildings, over 25 of those open to the public, it is the largest
Nova Scotia Museum site. Visit the wood turner shop, blacksmith,
pottery shop, and printery. Enjoy a delicious, light meal at the

The
most direct route is also the most scenic, along beautiful Marine
Drive. Follow
Hwy. 224 east for 19 kms. to Upper Musquodoboit and stop in at Moose
River Gold Mine Provincial Park and Museum along the way. Turn right on Hwy. 224
for 41.6 kms toward Sheet Harbour. Turn left onto Hwy. 7 (Marine
Drive) for 82.5 kms to Sherbrooke. (2
